The Stroop Task is a psychological test of our mental vitality and flexibility. The task takes advantages of our ability to read words more quickly and automatically than we can name colors. If words is printed or displayed in a color different from the color it actually names, we will say that words more readily than we can name the color in which it is displayed.The words themselves have a strong influence over our ability to say the color. The interference between the different information our brain receives causes a problem

As in the study by John Ridley Stroop (1935), there are 2 theories that may explain the Stroop Effect.
1. The speed of processing theory: the interference occurs because words are read faster than colors are named.
2. Selective Attention Theory: The interference occurs because naming colors requires more attention than reading words.

In Cartell’s (1886) work, he explained that words are read very automatically and color requires more attention to be named. The brain would subconsciously recognized words with effort. In other words, reading is an automatic process which cannot be turned off. People would see the meaning of words without much effort and consciousness. On the other hand, naming colors would require much more effort than reading words.

ok today i am going to share a story of one of my fren. he told me about it few days ago so no name mentioning so that things don get haywire. its an experience for everyone also.

Once upon a wonderful time, this fren of mine who was single got attached to a girl. they were loving. i saw some photo of them also. As a third party they look the sort that will have a long lasting love.

he brought this girl to meet me while i was still working in TAKA. they dine at the resturant and i gave them discount. they were a perfect couple at least to me. the male is handsome and the girl is pretty. Perfect match.

Gradually they stopped coming to the restuarant. i thought they went other places so did not take notice. (anyway food was bad over at the resturant).

the last few days when i met the male counterpart. he told me he had break with the girl already. Reason??? not enough time spent together. simple and short.

from the guy's point its a case of time managment. he explained to me that he is studying and still working fulltime(samewhat like me leh). he needs to meet his clients most of the time even on sat and sun. (he's a supplier) Thus leaving the least time for his girl.

to me he does not manage his time well so the outcome. but there is things i muz say is that there muz have this mutual understanding between the 2 of them.

the guy had put his priority on his work and studies and neglect the lady. the lady complained about not having enough time spent together. this happen most of the time for couples nowdays. there were no mutual understanding btween the 2. 1 does not noe what the other is doing. there are even more worst case where 1 does not even bother to find out what the other is doing. perhaps these was the case of why ppl choose to stay single bah.

it made me wonders if i will experience sthing like that. u may want to consider the slogan from Nike and Addias also. JUZ DO IT n NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

Life's full of uncertainties and unpredictabilities who knows..... Will a Miracle arrive in time???
